Engineering services
Testing and condition assessment
Diagnostic, acceptance, and compliance testing, with condition assessment and asset management to keep critical assets in service.

Scope
What is included
Testing shows what an asset is doing today; condition assessment and lifecycle planning show what to do next. We provide both where practical and relevant, so results turn into clear maintenance, refurbishment, or replacement decisions.
Testing
Examples are indicative, not a complete list. The test programme is set for each asset.
- Transformers and reactors: oil and winding diagnostics, including dissolved gas analysis (DGA) and sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA), plus insulation, winding resistance, ratio, and other electrical tests
- Switchgear and circuit breakers: insulation, contact resistance, operating time, and related checks
- Protection and control: settings verification and functional testing
- Test equipment: calibration and periodic recalibration, generally annual, for items such as meter test benches
- Condition surveys: partial discharge (PD) and thermal imaging where required
- Routine and acceptance testing before commissioning
- Other tests as required for the equipment, its age, and its duty
Condition assessment and asset management
- Condition assessment, periodic performance evaluation, and remedial works
- Lifecycle and fleet level planning
- Refurbishment versus replacement analysis
- Life extension, and replacement programmes driven by minimum energy performance standards (MEPS)
- SF6 to SF6 free transition support
- End of life planning

Applicability
Where this applies
Testing and condition assessment are carried out where practical and relevant to the equipment, and asset management support follows the same products. The scope depends on the asset, its age, and its duty.
