Who we are

This policy applies to Delstar New Zealand Ltd (“Delstar”, “we”, “us”), 10C Paramount Drive, Henderson, Auckland 0610, New Zealand, and our Australian office in North Lakes, Queensland. It covers personal information we collect through this website and when you deal with us. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for dealings with our Australian office, the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

• When you send an enquiry: your name, organisation, email address and phone number, the products or services you are interested in, the details of your requirement, and any files or share links you attach.
• When you contact us by email or phone: your contact details and what you tell us.
• When you visit the website: our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. The enquiry form uses an automated check to filter out spam, which looks at technical signals from your browser.

The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. One page stores a display preference (which standard a data sheet shows) in your own browser; it is not sent to us.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as health information) through the website. You can deal with us without giving your name for general questions, but we need contact details to reply to an enquiry or prepare a quotation.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare proposals and quotations.
• To supply equipment and services and provide support during and after a project.
• To keep records of our dealings with you and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.

We do not sell personal information. We will only send you news or marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who we share it with

• Our team in New Zealand and Australia, where they need it to deal with your enquiry or project.
• Manufacturers, suppliers and freight partners, where needed to prepare a quotation or deliver an order. Where we can, we share only the technical details of your requirement and not your contact details.
• Service providers who run our website, email and business systems for us, under arrangements that protect your information.
• Anyone we are required or permitted to disclose it to by law.

Information held overseas

Some of our service providers, including our website hosting and email providers, may store or process information outside New Zealand and Australia, for example in the United States. Where we send personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected in a way that is comparable to New Zealand and Australian privacy law. Manufacturers and suppliers we work with may also be overseas; where we share project details with them, we limit any personal information to what is needed.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure, reputable systems. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, business and tax records), and then securely delete it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below. We will respond as soon as we can, and in any case within 20 working days for requests under the New Zealand Privacy Act. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand (privacy.org.nz) or, in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
