The range

Insulation and protection tubes are the building blocks of cable terminations and joints, and they also insulate busbars, repair damaged cable sheaths and seal connections. The range covers heat shrink tubes in cut lengths and continuous rolls, and cold shrink and roll on tubes that need no heat.

Heat Shrink Insulation Tubes

Red anti tracking insulation tubes for medium voltage cable terminations up to 42 kV, protecting against accidental flashover, insulation tubes for medium voltage cable joints up to 42 kV, and dual layer tubes with a red insulating inner layer and a black semi conductive outer layer for the screen of joints. They are made from cross linked polyolefin, with adhesive coating where sealing is needed.

Stress Control and Semi Conductive Tubes

Stress control tubes that give electrical stress control for terminations and joints up to 42 kV, with continuous operation from minus 40 to 100 °C, and semi conductive tubes made from cross linked semi conductive polyolefin.

Protective and Oil Resistant Tubes

Protective tubes that give outer sealing and abrasion and chemical resistance to joints up to 42 kV, and that insulate joints and terminations on 1 kV cables, in black, red, yellow, blue and green. Oil resistant tubes are used on paper insulated lead covered cable terminations and joints, giving oil resistance, insulation and sealing.

Repair Sleeves

Wraparound heat shrink sleeves for fast, permanent repair and sealing of damaged power cable sheaths, closed with a corrosion proof metal channel, with high tensile strength and abrasion and corrosion resistance.

Busbar Tubes

Heat shrink tubes that insulate busbars in switchgear and substations, in yellow, red, green, blue and black. They protect against short circuits and leakage caused by small animals, reduce busbar clearance requirements and are available in 10 kV and 35 kV series.

Cold Shrink Tubes

Silicone rubber and EPDM tubes supplied pre expanded on a removable core, for insulation and sealing of connections indoors and outdoors. Installation is simple and fast, and no heat is needed.

Roll On Sealing Tubes

EPDM tubes with a dual wall design and an entrapped lubricant that roll on to insulate and seal cable connections up to 1 kV where heating is not allowed, even below minus 25 °C. They are reusable.

Shape Memory Materials

Heat shrink tubes are made from cross linked polyolefin that is expanded in manufacture and shrinks back to its original size when heated, giving a tight fit, insulation, sealing and mechanical protection.

Adhesive Sealed Ends

Hot melt adhesive inside the tube ends melts as the tube shrinks and seals against moisture, with full length adhesive available on request.

Anti Tracking Performance

Anti tracking tubes resist tracking and erosion on cable terminations, protecting against accidental flashover.

Controlled Electrical Properties

Insulation, stress control and semi conductive tubes are each made with electrical properties matched to the layer they rebuild in a termination or joint.

Cut Lengths and Continuous Rolls

Tubes are supplied in cut lengths for terminations and joints and in continuous rolls for general use, in a wide range of standard sizes, with other sizes made to order.

Heat Free Options

Cold shrink and roll on tubes install without heat, which suits sites where hot work or heat guns are not permitted.
